 Make it Saucy

Add a few spoonfuls of low-sodium beef or chicken broth to give your dog’s food a meaty flavor that’s irresistible.

Open the can be the man

if your dog usually doesn’t get canned food give it to him as a treat. You will be so excited he’ll forget that he didn’t want to eat.

Serve it up

If your dog is really resisting eating and nothing you try seems to work, you should hand feed him as much kibble as he will eat. A little TLC goes a long way.

Scramble it up

Cooked eggs add flavor to your dog’s food while also adding protein. Try crumbling some egg yolk on top of your dog’s kibble for a tasty treat.

Give the bird

Cooked shredded turkey or chicken (like eggs) can be a tasty protein packed addition. Make sure to use all white meat and remove the bones so your dog doesn’t choke.

Don’t be pushy

If your dog won’t eat, don’t force it. Leave his food out overnight he may feel better later and want to eat it if your dog doesn’t eat within  hours be sure to contact your veterinarian is your dog not eating after surgery .

Here are few more quick ways to get your dog to eat using simple items that don’t require any cooking or preparation.

Of course Flavors is a better alternative to human foods but we wanted to provide alternatives for people who haven’t tried our product yet.

Here we have four tasty foods our dogs love unsalted chicken broth, natural peanut butter, shredded cheese, and canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling.)

Unsalted chicken broth

One thing to remember with chicken broth is even when you get the unsalted version, there can still be a large amount of sodium in it.

Make sure you check the label and serve it appropriately. With chicken broth being liquid, it helps with hydration and is easy to pour over dry kibble.

Natural peanut butter

Peanut butter is a great source of protein for your dogs, just like it is for you and I. With the all-natural version it’s easier to mix in to your dogs food. Just remember don’t get carried away with peanut butter it is fairly high in fat.

Shredded cheese

We had to go with cheese because our dogs love cheese, but just remember some dogs don’t digest dairy well. If you’re not certain, try the other food toppers first.

Canned pumpkin

Last but not least, Pumpkin is a great source of fiber for your dog and fairly easy to mix in with your dogs kibble. Just remember to get the pure canned pumpkin and not the pumpkin pie filling.

Like we mentioned before, Flavors are also a healthy and more convenient way to get your dog to eat. It can be sprinkled over the food or mixed with water to make savory broth.

The great thing about Flavors is that they are lower in fat and healthier because they don’t contain the added ingredients found in human foods.
